Public bug reported:

This is a scripted bug report about ADT failures while running smifb2
tests for linux/6.8.0-38.38 on noble. Whether this is caused by the dep8
tests of the tested source or the kernel has yet to be determined.

Testing failed on:
    amd64:
https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/results/autopkgtest-noble/noble/amd64/s/smifb2/20240610_173559_e3e92@/log.gz

https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/results/autopkgtest-noble/noble/arm64/s/smifb2/20240610_181353_b9ebc@/log.gz
    armhf:
https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/results/autopkgtest-noble/noble/armhf/s/smifb2/20240610_174542_19cd9@/log.gz
    ppc64el:
https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/results/autopkgtest-noble/noble/ppc64el/s/smifb2/20240610_174114_8b41f@/log.gz
    s390x:
https://autopkgtest.ubuntu.com/results/autopkgtest-noble/noble/s390x/s/smifb2/20240610_174140_ba1b5@/log.gz

This should be (from what I am told) only supported for amd64. The build
there fails with several errors. From our history the last time the
build succeeded was with kernel 6.6.0-14.14. No v6.8 kernel ever
reported success.

Package appears in need of a refresh:
- handle 6.8 kernels
- gracefully skip for !amd64
