I have 2 laptops running Hardy. One is a fresh Hardy install (done today and fully updated) the other is a upgrade from Feisty. gdmsetup appears for about 1 second then crashes (No error message) If I runt from the terminal I get Segmentation Fault. I believe the problem was caused by a recent update. The fresh install would run gdmsetup with no problems before I updated it. After all of the latest updates were applied and the system restarted, gdmsetup would crash. Hi, the only thing I've been able find is once you modify the gdm config which creates the file /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom you end up with gdm crashing every time you try to login. This seems to have been corrected in a recent upgrade though as I am now able to modify the gdm config without any crashing. I don't know what else to say or what information I could supply at this point.
