[Bug 210524] Re: [ HARDY] open with report a problem not working under Nautilus
Upgrading an obsolete package *after* the crash occurred and was processed with apport once doesn't work; the flag that there are obsolete packages is stored in the .crash file itself. This is actually on purpose: If you have old libraries around, which cause a crash, then you shouldn't be able to pretend that you were running the current versions by upgrading after the crash happened; instead, you should reproduce the crash and file it again. Thus I mark this as wontfix, since it is working as intended. In such cases where it's clear that the obsolete package is very unlikely to have caused the crash, you can suppress the obsolescence check with APPORT_IGNORE_OBSOLETE_PACKAGES=1 /usr/share/apport/apport-gtk -c /var/crash/foo.crash (See man apport-cli). ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu) Status: New = Won't Fix -- [ HARDY] open with report a problem not working under Nautilus https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 210524] Re: [ HARDY] open with report a problem not working under Nautilus
I am attaching the file _usr_bin_trackerd.1000.crash. It was produced by apport but if you attempt to process it from the commandline using apport-cli or if you try using the apport option under the nautilus right-click menu it fails and reports the following: *** Problem in tracker The problem cannot be reported: You have some obsolete package versions installed. Please upgrade the following packages and check if the problem still occurs: debianutils Degianutils seems to be up to date. You can use apport-unpack -c _usr_bin_trackerd.1000.crashto expand the crash report into mutiple files, but otherwise there is an issue with this particular report. ** Attachment added: _usr_bin_trackerd.1000.crash http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13149534/_usr_bin_trackerd.1000.crash -- [ HARDY] open with report a problem not working under Nautilus https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
