[Bug 211016] Re: Gstreamer with Pulseaudio on Network : no Sound
Should be fixed (in another fashion) in intrepid. Please confirm. ** Changed in: gst-pulse (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- Gstreamer with Pulseaudio on Network : no Sound https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/211016 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 211016] Re: Gstreamer with Pulseaudio on Network : no Sound
Can confirm the patch above does at least result in music from Rhythmbox and sound from Totem coming out of a Windows PulseAudio server. This may not mean it's the right patch, though - but WORKSFORME. -- Gstreamer with Pulseaudio on Network : no Sound https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/211016 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 211016] Re: Gstreamer with Pulseaudio on Network : no Sound
Confirm (8.04). Network sound works after installing the ALSA PulseAudio plugins from Debian unstable and telling all aps to output to ALSA instead of PulseAudio. When using the stock ALSA plugins to output to Pulse, Rhythmbox will randomly hang when switching desktops. When using gst-pulse, it will stutter on large screen redraws and won't work at all over the network.
This workaround doesn't work, sorry The problem is really in gst-pusle, as said above, mplayer for example works fine.
The workaround described in bug #216300 fixes the problem for me, both in the local and the remote case. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/216300/comments/2 -- Gstreamer with Pulseaudio on Network : no Sound https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/211016 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 211016] Re: Gstreamer with Pulseaudio on Network : no Sound
** Description changed: + On ubuntu Hardy Heron Beta Trying to send sound from A to B using Pulseaudio over a TCP network. No sound at all using one of gnome's gstreamer app : totem, rhythmbox, exaile.. In exaile and rhythmbox, nothing happen : no sound, no error, progress bar don't move. In totem : error message : "Failed to create stream (null)" Setup seems ok as using mplayer with pulse output selected in prefs on A send sound to B ok I also try : mpg123 -s fichier.mp3 | pacat -> ok it seems the problem is in gstreamer, altough in gstreamer-properties Pulseaudio Output is selected and clicking "Test" send sound from A to B ok. I try with gst-launch : # gst-launch-0.10 filesrc location=fichier.mp3 ! mad ! pulsesink result in : Setting pipeline to PAUSED ... Pipeline is PREROLLING ... ERROR: from element /pipeline0/pulsesink0: Failed to create stream: (null) Additional debug info: pulsesink.c(388): gst_pulsesink_prepare (): /pipeline0/pulsesink0 ERROR: pipeline doesn't want to preroll. Setting pipeline to NULL ...
