Public bug reported:

during rebuilds of the linux source it often happens that the linux-
restricted-modules package is not available for one or two days (since
its usually built after the linux source). people using restrictecd
drivers in development versions are sometimes hit by this and have no
proper graphics driver which causes them to either pull teh driver from
nvidia and compile it themselves or makes them file bug reports.

if jockey would perform a test on available versions of both packages
during startup and pop up a message like:

"The restricted drivers package for your kernel is not yet available,
this often happens if a kernel update was released and and the
restricted modules package is still being built. please wait a while and
try again"

that could save us a lot of users using selfcompiled upstream versions
of the restricted drivers and a lot of bugreports.
