[Bug 212402] Re: audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip)
Based on the comment from the original bug reporter, https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/212402/comments/8 , I'm going to go ahead and close this bug. Obviously feel free to reopen if you'd like to pursue debugging the old hw. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212402 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 212402] Re: audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip)
I decided to buy an Audigy 2 which works nicely out of the box, and disabled the SIS integrated audio since I still had issues with it. After 3 Ubuntu releases with audio brokenness I simply needed a solution. If I can be of any help regarding the hardware, please let me know. Otherwise I probably won't ever use the SIS chip again, now having a much better and working card. -- audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212402 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 212402] Re: audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip)
Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04? ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212402 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 212402] Re: audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip)
Attached 3 files. Hope this gives more info if someone wants to fix it for Gutsy. I think the bug is still there, only masked by pulseaudio. -- audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212402 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 212402] Re: audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip)
Thanks for commenting on this! I don't have Gutsy anymore, and the situation is different here on Hardy, but I will attach those outputs as files anyway. Hardy works fine if running pulseaudio (minus the mixed up channels). Meaning you lose in KDE. Intrepid is almost out too, so as I don't have much free time anymore, I will just wait for that and see if it's fixed there. I will still answer questions if needed here. (won't attach dmesg now since I'm only hibernating for weeks now, thus no useful info in there right now) ** Attachment added: "lspci" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18780919/lspci -- audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212402 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 212402] Re: audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip)
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? If it is still a problem, then please attach as files: ls -l /proc/asound/cards to The output from the lspci command The output from the dmesg command The output of cat /proc/version You may also want to have a look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DebuggingSoundProblems to see if there is any othe relevant info you can provide. [Bug 212402] Re: audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip)
Actually the title of this report is a bit misleading, it is only a part of the problems I'm having, but should be caused by the same thing I guess. -- audio channels mixed up (SIS966 chip) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212402 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
