Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Description: Ubuntu hardy (development branch)
Release: 8.04
Arch: amd64
Graphics card: i945
xserver-xorg-video-intel:
  Installed: 2:2.2.1-1ubuntu9~local1
(a local build of ubuntu9 version, but the same problem appeared in earlier
versions as well)

I'm running a KDE environment with the KDE3 compositing manager to get some
nice transparent terminals.
Sometimes when I try to play a video with Xv the server crashes in the driver.
The crash causes the text-mode ttys to become unusable but a new X server is
started by KDM.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
