[Bug 213382] Re: btnx/btnx config (newest versions on your homepage) FAIL to work on Xubuntu 7.10 Gutsy amd64 compiled from source
This is not an issue that affects Xubuntu directly since we do not support btnx from tarballs and building from source. ** Changed in: xubuntu-default-settings Status: New = Invalid -- btnx/btnx config (newest versions on your homepage) FAIL to work on Xubuntu 7.10 Gutsy amd64 compiled from source https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213382 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 213382] Re: btnx/btnx config (newest versions on your homepage) FAIL to work on Xubuntu 7.10 Gutsy amd64 compiled from source
I think the bug Kevin describes is different, but is apparently related to the new configuration looping feature. Leo: did an earlier version of btnx work with Xubuntu Gutsy? If so which one? I have to defer work on this (these) until the end of May. Sorry. I'm simply short on free time. ** Changed in: btnx Importance: Undecided = Medium Assignee: (unassigned) = Olli Salonen (daou) -- btnx/btnx config (newest versions on your homepage) FAIL to work on Xubuntu 7.10 Gutsy amd64 compiled from source https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213382 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yes Olli, the previous version was 4.4 I believe. I have to check my archive but It was the version just after you integrated revoco. I left it alone and was waiting for the rewrite until I installed Xubuntu Gutsy a second time to upgrade to Xfce 4.4.2 via the Xubuntu team's PPA repository. I doubt if something there caused the problem but it IS possible. I can always go back to btnx 4.4/btnx-config 4.4. I'm away from my machine now, so if you'd like hard confirmation on the version I will send you the version number by tomorrow.. Amd64 architecture. I get bugs I don't understand. It doesn't work with Autostarted Applications. btnx-config won't let me make a new config file or add buttons after I've done an initial default configuration. Also, Revoco should work by default so a middle button can be registered. I will file a seperate bug report. Best, Leo send me eMail with the request for the proper info from terminal. I don't know what kind of output you need. OH and if some kind soul could explain how to autogenerate a log file for ./configure make make check sudo make install I would be grateful. This Bug Is Ridiculous. (not a security vulnerability) but it disables mouse wheel scroll and forces you to use the scrollbar after setting up btnx on Xubuntu/Xfce. Ugh, I'll file a 3rd bug report OK. -- - itsanudae ** Attachment added: unnamed http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13842126/unnamed -- btnx/btnx config (newest versions on your homepage) FAIL to work on Xubuntu 7.10 Gutsy amd64 compiled from source https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213382 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 213382] Re: btnx/btnx config (newest versions on your homepage) FAIL to work on Xubuntu 7.10 Gutsy amd64 compiled from source
Olli and Leo, I am also having problems with btnx-0.4.9, btnx-config-0.4.8 on Ubuntu 7.10 amd64 compiled from the tarballs. I am able to make new config files and add buttons but I cannot restart btnx to apply the settings. I get the following error when using the Restart btnx button in config: ---Error: could not restart btnx ---Failed to execute command: /etc/init.d/btnx restart. Make sure btnx is installed correctly. When running the terminal command /etc/init.d/btnx restart, I get the following output: Restarting btnx : Button Extension - mouse button rerouter daemon btnx: Failed to kill previous btnx processes btnx successfully stopped btnx: uinput modprobed successfully. btnx: Opening config file: /etc/btnx/btnx_config_Logitech 2 btnx: No configured mouse handler detected: No such file or directory btnx: Opening config file: /etc/btnx/btnx_config_Default btnx: No configured mouse handler detected: No such file or directory btnx: Looped through all configurations. Stopping. btnx: Configuration file error. btnx failed to start during restart btnx_config_Logitech 2 is a new profile I created after upgrading hoping that the problem was with the configuration file. btnx_config_Default is a profile I had used before the upgrade. Restarting and killing gnome do not work, i.e. the new settings are not applied.
