I assume the reason for this problem is some kind of unfortunate userspecific settings (kde settings?), since the problem only occurs under one user account. The problem still ocurs with all current updates installed. Thanks for your info. I attached a gdb session with partial symbols installed Installing dbgsym package does not work directly. The symbol version does not match the program version as shown by output below. I need further input on how to bypass this problem. $ sudo apt-get install gnome-games-dbgsym ...
