Don't do yet... For me xmgrace crashes at startup too, but does not if started as root (thanks a lot mutzinet). Grace works OK if compiled myself against OpenMotif. Thanks a lot for the tip. I'm using Kubuntu Intrepid with KDE 4.2 RC packages from PPA. So, may be it is a KDE-specific bug? Well, if it works reliably for you with lesstif - fine. Ok. Not mutzinet but myself compiled xmgrace 5.1.22 from source and now works correctly. (I mean, the compiled version) It is not an issue of 5.1.21, because the changelog is minimal and unrelated. For me, it also worked as root. I run strace, but could not recognize the problem. Lesstif on 64bits has many subtle bugs, this might be one of them. Some more infos: I installed gnome (installed ubuntu-desktop within kubuntu) and in gnome grace works like a charm. I have both 5.1.21 -1build-1 and 5.99.1+dev4-4build1 installed on Hardy x86-64. Both abort when started unless started with sudo, thanks mutzinet ;).
