The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Intrepid Ibex. With every single one. 1. Open one of them. 2. Maximise Evince. 3. Close. 4. I confirm this behaviour with Hardy’s Evince – unmaximising the window makes the content appear properly. i'm using compiz too.
