Confirmed on fresh amd64 hardy install with all updates on Dell D820 with external USB Dell keyboard. Note: home directory restored from a previous Feisty installation on this same laptop. Turning off via CTRL+SHIFT+NUM LOCK or via GUI as described by James, solves the problem. Hi, Could you please confirm whether the following setting is on or off? System->Properties->Assistive Technologies->Keyboard Accesibility-> Mouse Keys tab->"Allow to control the pointer using the keyboard" If this is on does turning it off help?
