[Bug 215341] Re: Add some visual feedback when hover mouse over menubar

2010-05-03 Thread thorwil
Bug 340203 - [patch] Support "prelight state" in menu bars and notebooks. (with
patch files):
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340203

Buttons, icons, check boxes, radio buttons, scrollbars, sliders ... all have
prelight. Entries are an exception (shouldn't be), but there you see a change
of the mouse cursor. It's simply inconsistent to not have prelight on menus
(and tabs).

With a unified title-menu-bar, where you can drag to move the window on
every area that is not a window button or menu, it would be good to make
it clear if the pointer is in the menu area before a click!

KDE does this. Windows does this.
Not sure about Mac OS X.

So when I used Ubuntu, I thought it was strange that there were no
visual feedback.

[Bug 215341] Re: Add some visual feedback when hover mouse over menubar

2008-04-10 Thread SethWoodworth
I'm not convinced of it's utility. I, for one, am bothered by too much
UI interaction as I move my mouse around.

Perhaps an option tab with several such options for those who would
prefer them. Such as auto expand on mouse over, and an opacity change
on mouse over (handy when you change your background to something dark
and your menu is transparent)
