Security issue: While attempting to access any of my mounted drives, I am able
to bypass the password request by pressing "cancel" button. After cancel button
is selected, the volume of files opens anyway and I can edit as desired.

First, please confirm whether you are still on 7.10 or on 8.04 (that's
important because we use totally different authentication mechanisms for
this). Please open a Terminal window, and copy&paste the output of

  sudo -K
  gnome-mount -vbd /dev/sda1

Replace /dev/sda1 with the actual device of the internal drives you were
trying to mount. If you don't know what that means, please do "lshal >
/tmp/hal.txt" and attach /tmp/hal.txt here, and describe some properties
of the device (was it a Windows partition? Does it have a name/label?
hard disk or usb stick? etc.) Thank you!

nautilus doesn't ask for any credential, not sure what mint is using,
reassigning to gnome-mount but giving extra details about the dialog you
get and the mount you are using is required
