We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The biggest one is that the MythTV developers have turned their efforts to newer versions and and are no longer fixing bugs on this version of MythTV. The Mythbuntu team has builds of newer versions of MythTV available on a PPA if you are interested in upgrading. Please follow the directions at http://mythbuntu.org/auto-builds to enable them. Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with the newer versions. I cannot answer Daniel's last question, I don't use mythtv. But I thought I'd add here that virtualbox the keyboard does not work in a virtualbox guest when scim was running on virtualbox startup (bug 217364). This seems to work for me in KDE 3.5. In addition to editing the SCIM page I referenced earlier, I've added a cross-ref from the Ubuntu/MythTV troubleshooting page https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MythTV/FAQs Unfortunately, I don't know enough to truly know whether this is a cross-platform issue for MythTV or if it's Ubuntu-specific.
