yes , however i dont see how this can happen , since it was a key press and 
key = gtk.gdk.keyval_name (event.keyval)

so key cannot ever be None , i will add a check for when it is none ,
but i dont understand how it can be none

Looks like the key variable should be checked for being None (see the pygtk 
reference [1]).
Developers, is this still an issue in the bzr?
