After some help from freedesktop.org we have found out that this is related to the touch pad on the Dell computer(s) and it may also be related to other laptops with dual mouse setup.
This is where the bug defined: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15956#c11 I have posted the information on the Dell mailinglist, and hopefully someone from them will help get this bug sorted out.
