[Bug 223399] Re: nvidia twinview 'above' setting breaks title bars

2010-11-05 Thread alfredo
Still an issue with 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx.

Driver is nvidia, but unsure if this is the issue.

Is this about how the Window Manager defines the layout of the screens?

Please refer to the big green arrow in the attached screenshot.

Screenshot also contains the nvidia X server settings dialog for your
information.

[Bug 223399] Re: nvidia twinview 'above' setting breaks title bars

2009-01-20 Thread s.mingr...@gmx.de
I guess it's assign to the wrong package. I tried the nouveau driver
instead of the nvidia driver and the problem still exists. I think that
means that the window manager is to blame for this and not the video
driver. So in theory people with other cards/drivers should have the
same problem. Can someone confirm this?

I have the same problem Alex described. I am using Ubuntu 8.10 with
nvidia driver version 177 and 180, with and without compiz. Something
new on this?

[Bug 223399] Re: nvidia twinview 'above' setting breaks title bars

2008-09-05 Thread AlexConrad
I think I have the same issue, let me expose mine.

I have a laptop, which is my "primary" screen and an external screen
connected to my VGA output, which is my "secondary" screen. I want to
make that secondary screen "ABOVE" my laptop screen. Fine, I've been
able to manage this through the "nvidia-settings" application by
enabling TwinView and setting my "secondary" screen as "ABOVE".

When I open an application, say firefox, in my primary screen (laptop)
and maximize firefox, the title bar of firefox overlaps with the top-
panel bar (which holds "Applications", "Paces" and "System") and goes
under it. So firefox's title bar is hidden and we can't access the top-
right buttons of the window. Note that it doesn't overlap with the
bottom-panel (which shows the opened applications)

Please find attached a screenshot of my NVIDIA settings and a screen
shot of my whole desktop with firefox maximized.

Regards,
Alex Conrad
