Public bug reported: In the final Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy):
Applications->Add/Remove.../->Sun Java 6 Runtime. Looking at the console (Details) during installation, I notice many "parse errors". This is on a clean Hardy install (I have installed only a single non-Java related application before trying to install Java). Java seemed to install successfully, but I certainly won't attempt using it for anything serious after seeing those ominous errors. Interestingly, after removing it, I re-installed it, and I didn't get these errors, but of course that doesn't mean that the damage isn't there. I'll try reinstalling Hardy and report back. ** Affects: sun-java6 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [hardy] Multiple "parser errors" during installation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
