I've got similar problem with Logitech Wave Corded keyboard. I'm having this same problem, except kded crashes randomly when I haven't pressed any of the special 'X' buttons. This usually occurs 12-24 hours after a reboot. Same problem here on a dell E1505 using a hardy fresh install with a usb keyboard, which has a "calc" button on it. Yes, it kills the volume up/down, mute, Fn-battery popup, Fn eject buttons too, although dimming keys work.
