I really like the power and flexibility of K3B, but this is my only gripe so far. IMHO there at least needs to be the option. The other thing (for me, anyways), is it will remember your last image selected and start churning your HDD to calc the md5 on that automatically first. Normally this can just be an annoyance, but I can think of cases where this is harmful, one example being a laptop where it sucks your battery life. Hi! I have to agree here, there should be some way to turn this off. It may not make much of a difference if you burn an image that is residing on a local disk, but when the image resides on a network disk it's another story. This feature effectively doubles the time it takes to burn a CD/DVD image when a 100Mbit LAN is used since the LAN bandwidth is what limits the burn speed. It's less of a problem with a gigabit network, but still quite noticeable.
