[Bug 228511] Re: upgrade breaks grub
Unfortunately there does not seem to be enough information to adequately describe the bug. Since this is also very old and feisty is being phased out, I am closing this report. If you can provide a more detailed description and/or reproduce this with a more recent release ( preferably 10.04 ) please reopen the bug. ** Changed in: grub (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- upgrade breaks grub https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228511 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 228511] Re: upgrade breaks grub
The gksudo problem is solved: Turned out /etc/hosts and /etc/hostname had different names. Very odd, but easily fixed once sorted out. Boot now also seems to go more smoothly. However, the grub problem may remain. I suspect it is because the MBR is on hd0 while Ubuntu is on hd1. -- upgrade breaks grub https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228511 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
