[Bug 231022] [NEW] AltGr-ScrollLock does not work

2008-05-16 Thread Philipp Kohlbecher
Public bug reported:

Pressing AltGr-ScrollLock should show the current register contents on
the console. (See fn_show_ptregs() in file drivers/char/keyboard.c
and http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Keyboard-and-Console-HOWTO-8.html#ss8.2 ) It
doesn't. Pressing these keys does nothing at all.

Shift-ScrollLock (show memory) and Ctrl-ScrollLock (show state) work
fine, so this seems to be one of these problems with the AltGr key.

I am using hardy on a Samsung X20 XVM 1730 V laptop (ScrollLock is
Fn+F12).

This may have to do with Xorg; I will try the key combination after
booting into single user mode and report the results.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

This probably isn't related to Xorg. The problem occurs much earlier:
The key combo stops working after running
/scripts/init-top/console-setup from the initrd.

I will investigate further to find out exactly which of the actions of
said script causes this.
