I suspect it was a crap bluetooth device i had. I got a d-link dbt-122 and all the problems disappeared. Do you have (I cannot see that in dmesg but ask for it anyway) another bluetooth device connected? Could you post the output of the hciconfig command please? The output of lsusb when the device is plugged in identifies the device as: Bus 005 Device 011: ID 0a5c:2035 Broadcom Corp. Sorry for the late reply, was away for a seminar. At this point in time, i could not rule out the location of the bug. Is there another application that uses bluetooth and has similar error? AFAIK, all bluetooth dongles uses the same driver. Could you give us the name of the bluetooth dongle in question ? The dmesg output doesn't show anything related to bluetooth but here goes... Also, I tried the same procedure using a different usb bluetooth device and everything works without errors. Could you attach a copy of the dmesg output after the error has occur? I have open up the pybluez task as this issue could be found in two different application. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Have you tried to use other bluetooth function like scanning for devices(not counting blueproximity) or sending a file through bluetooth? Also is there any problem when pairing up your bluetooth device and your computer?
