actually i saw that the initial bug was about 8.04 not 8.10. my connection editor comment applied to ubuntu 8.10 only. Confirmed. I'm unable to set up a static IP address in network-configuration. Also, when I set up a subnet mask, I enter it correctly, but the tool automatically changes it ti 24 I don't know if that's right or not, but if it confuses me, it'll confuse a lot more people. The old configuration tool was kinda wonky, but at least it worked.
