[Bug 236022] Re: New upstream version available

2011-07-04 Thread Micah Gersten
Thank you for your interest in Ubuntu. This was removed from Debian and
Ubuntu due to open RC bugs and a lack of people interested in
maintaining it. If you anyone is interested in getting this package
back into the distros, please consider joining the Debian pkg-multimedia
team (http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia) and maintaining it there.
Please report any other issues you may find.

Thanks for the builds in your PPA. They fix the noise I got with the
normal packages for Jaunty 64 bit. Could you rebuild these without debug
info printed to terminal and get then into jaunty via backports repo?

[Bug 236022] Re: New upstream version available

2009-06-09 Thread fabrice_sp
Hi,

To have it backported, it first need to be in the current development
version (karmic), and that's not the case right now. I still think I
will be able to have it in Karmic, but I still miss one dependency
(gmerlin-avdecoder). When the new openmovieeditor lands karmic, I'll
request the backport.

[Bug 236022] Re: New upstream version available

2009-03-01 Thread Keith Worrell
This is a great, simple video editor. It is missing some bells and
whistles, but for the 'behind the scenes' stuff it takes care of for the
user, this is priceless. The new features that have been added in the
past year make it look amazing, giving great freedom in some necessary
ways I think potential users of the current ubuntu version could say are
severely lacking.

This is a weakness I can't argue with potential converts to Ubuntu. I
could really put on a show with the current version of this application.
New laptops are coming with web cams, and people want to put their
videos on youtube. I think this would be the greatest thing for people
with no computer experience; and from what I can see, there is nothing
confusing about this application.

2009-03-01 Thread fabrice_sp
Hi,

The only problem with the latest version is that it requires a lot of other
packages.
You can find my test package of latest version of openmovieeditor at
https://launchpad.net/~fabricesp/+archive/ppa.

2008-08-13 Thread punong_bisyonaryo
I've built .deb packages for newer versions of gavl and libquicktime
that would enable you to build the new OME. However, it is far from
package standards (don't know how aside from configure, make,
checkinstall). I believe they are currently testing the libquicktime
package, though I wish they would release it soon.
