i get the same exception with an empty firefox profile and installed colorful tabs extension, but not segmentation fault. I've been trying to get more information on the error, however Firefox just keeps exiting with segmentation fault when trying to eval an xpath (with dom inspector or xpather) Weird thing is I am running similiar systems on laptop and home and these seem to work ok. I tried coping my profile from home to work and still the same thing happens. OK a little more testing and I found an error shows up in the JSConsole just prior to the segmentation fault. I am getting the exact same error on startup but I'm just most of my toolbar and menu icons (mostly the folder icon I think).
