[This is an automated message] Hi scott.severance, Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file from after reproducing this issue. the capplet is only used to select a keyboard configuration, if this one doesn't work that's likely an xkeyboard-config issue or bug #23244 ** Changed in: xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: gnome-control-center => xkeyboard-config -- Dead keys don't work when certain Greek keyboard layouts are in the selected layouts list https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/240615 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 240615] Re: Dead keys don't work when certain Greek keyboard layouts are in the selected layouts list
Both GTK_IM_MODULES and GTK_IM_MODULE are unset (at least, they didn't have any value when I echoed them from the terminal--if there's a better way to test them, do tell). I Googled for GTK_IM_MODULES and tried a few of the values I found, with no effect. It doesn't help that GTK_IM_MODULES is apparently undocumented (at least, Google can't find dicumentation), so I can only guess that it has something to do with input methods. Today when I was trying this, I discovered that in the terminal, 5 produces (less shows this as <82>), while in other apps, nothing results. -- Dead keys don't work when certain Greek keyboard layouts are in the selected layouts list https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/240615 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 240615] Re: Dead keys don't work when certain Greek keyboard layouts are in the selected layouts list
Can you please verify the value of the variable GTK_IM_MODULES? When I set this variable to "xim", I get the behaviour you describe. Without setting the variable, I am able to type with dead keys (using British English and Greek Polytonic layouts). -- Dead keys don't work when certain Greek keyboard layouts are in the selected layouts list https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/240615 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
