[Bug 240811] Re: Error message when using normal updates

2008-06-17 Thread Nick Ellery
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description
didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How
to report bugs effectively" [WWW]
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at [WWW]
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 240811] Re: Error message when using normal updates

2008-06-19 Thread Jerzy MansarliƄski
Hello! It is a problem caused by no free space in boot partition. You
should remove old kernels using package manager to free up disk space.

>From log file:
Setting up linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic (2.6.24-19.33) ...

Running depmod.

update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-19-generic

gzip: stdout: No space left on device

update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-19-generic

Failed to create initrd image.

dpkg: error processing linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic (--configure):

subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2

It is not a bug, so I am closing this bug report. Feel free to
continue to report any other bugs you may find.
