[Bug 241196] Re: offline messages not available

2010-07-26 Thread Anatoly Kupriyanov
I have the same problem for NNTP account. And it is easy to reproduce. I have
Linux 2.6.32-24-generic-pae #38-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jul 5 10:54:21 UTC 2010 i686
GNU/Linux
Thunderbird 3.0.5

NNTP server: news.rsdn.ru
login/password: bugmenot/bugmenot (or new one could be registered on
http://rsdn.ru/Users/NewOne.aspx page

Any newsgroup could be used for test, I recommend rsdn.test

The problem is same - offline mode doesn't work. Thunderbird downloads
messages (it looks so at least), but it's impossible to read in the
offline.

[Bug 241196] Re: offline messages not available

2010-03-26 Thread barry.cob...@att,net
I have the same problem and it appears to be exacerbated in the latest
version (as of March 2010). Numerous messages do not download
regardless of date. Additionally, the fix proposed above by Rob --
right-clicking on the inbox and then ordering a download -- does not
improve the situation. The software appears to think that all messages
have downloaded, when they either have not downloaded or are not
retrievable except in on-line mode.

The only messages that are retrievable in offline mode are the ones that
have already been read on the particular computer being used. It would
be lovely if Mozilla would fix this asap since it greatly impairs the
utility of the software.

[Bug 241196] Re: offline messages not available

2009-10-14 Thread Rob Frohne
I thought I had this problem, but I found that in addition to selecting
in the preferences that your inbox needs to be downloaded for offline
use, you need to right click on the Inbox and select it there as well,
(or perhaps only this second step is needed).

This isa thunderbird+IMAP bug has nothing to do with lightning no need
for lightning version updates.

[Bug 241196] Re: offline messages not available

2009-07-21 Thread Nicholas A. Suppiah
On Kubuntu Jaunty Linux with Thunderbird 2.0.0.22 and lightning 0.9, I
can download and read emails from the Horde+Postfix email server.

I can select the offline folders and put setting. But when I am disconnected
from the network (internet) and go into offline mode, I cannot read my emails.
The messages is below
"The body of this message has not been downloaded from the server for reading
offline. To read this message, you must reconnect to the network, choose
Offline from the File menu and then select Work Online. In the future, you can
select which messages or folders to read offline. To do this, choose Offline
from the file menu and then select Synchronize. You can adjust the Disk Space
preference to prevent the downloading of large messages."

Re: [Bug 241196] Re: offline messages not available

2008-12-16 Thread Cormac Reynolds
The nature of the bug seems to have changed slight in tbird 2.0.0.18.
Now I find that instead of random old messages being unavailable,
every message older than a certain date becomes unavailable when
offline. As before, when I look in my thunderbird profile with a text
editor (or another mail reader such as alpine), I can see that the
message has been downloaded, but thunderbird claims it can't find it.
I'm pretty sure this is not the same bug as #223241

I don't know what additional information I can give on recreating it.
I simply use thunderbird to access my gmail 'All Mail' folder. This is
a very large folder (2 GB), which I think is important - I don't see
this problem with small folders. I have it marked for offline use.
When I go offline (after downloading the folder) thunderbird claims
that many old messages have not been downloaded for offline use,
though they clearly have.

thanks for looking into this,

Cormac.
