i also have that problem, but wasnt always like that.. im using pidgin
2.5.5 and on previous versions i didnt have that problem.no fix for it
yet?

I have exactly the same problem. Often I come back to my laptop and
pidgin is just disappeared. It happens with Pidgin 2.5.2 on Ubuntu 8.10
and with the same version on Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista too.

I was getting the same thing so i followed the instructions for a
backtrace...

I don't know if it was the same error as I had before, this time i was
just about to add a smilie, last time it Just closed while i was waiting
for another message.

Was in a conversation with 2 others, both using winxplatest msn they
both left just as mine was crashing. Was also having connection
difficulties despite switching to a ethernet cable from wireless.
