I am still having this problem and have been unable to work the last two days because of it... 2.22.3.0 and up to 2.23... I see above it is recommended to go to 2.23.4; however I am afraid to do that because it requires the removal of multiple other programs that I use (I am running Hardy). I cannot confirm that this bug has been fixed. Testing on Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha with all updates, this problem remains, the only difference being that currently it gives no error message at all. In case someone does not want to wait (it annoyed me for sure), I took the upstream patch and converted it to a debian patch to be added to evolution-data-server-2.23.4/debian/patches. To my understanding this has already been resolved on (unknown) update on trunk. I am currently running SVN trunk, and I do not see the issue anymore. It was present until near 2.23.5. It was indeed introduced somewhere between 2.22.1 and 2.23.4.
