I tried this with two random podcasts that I had on my hard drive. One of them was ~100 minutes in length and ~80 MB in size, and the other was ~36 minutes in length and ~40 MB in size. Both of them played and fast-forwarded just like I expected them to. I tried fast forwarding from the starting point of the first file to almost the end of it, and the response time was good enough for me. It took about 1 second to resume playback, but that's what I expect when I fast-forward that much. There's no way I would be OK with a music played taking up all that RAM to keep the whole file in the memory. After skipping through it once, though, it become very responsive to skipping at random places in the audio file.
