[Bug 243449] Re: screensaver ignores mouse action on second display

2009-02-16 Thread Norman Peelman
Additional info:

Sometimes moving the mouse between monitors will interrupt the screens
dimming, sometimes not. When not, a keypress will. Unable to test on
newer releases at this time. I should state that compiz is enabled and I
have not tried it disabled yet. I have another issue that I believe is
related to the multi-monitor setup in that sometimes I can't start
(GTK/Gnome) applications. Not from the menu, not from the desktop, not
from AWN. I was lucky enough to have a terminal open already and
attempting to start an application resulted in:

can't find display :0.0

but $DISPLAY is/was set to that. Apps won't start on any monitor when
this happens. This also affects the 'switch user'/'logout' actions.
They won't run but shutdown will. I can continue to use programs already
open and a xserver restart fixes it.

I know it's not part of this bug but I beliive they are related
somehow. I'll see what happens with compiz disabled.

2009-02-16 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04?
Thanks in advance.

Additional info: when working on display :0.0 the problem does not
surface. Spend enough time for DPMS to kick in on another display and
fade out starts.

[Bug 243449] Re: screensaver ignores mouse action on second display

2008-08-10 Thread Norman Peelman
Same issues here but on x86_64 hardy heron (amd64x2 6400)... Three
monitor setup and monitors begin to dim while using the mouse. Moving
the mouse from one display to another is needed to restore.

As in bug#200804, the fade/screensaver can only be interrupted after the
fade is complete and the screensaver has started.
