Ntop 3.3 is quite old. The latest upstream version (4.0.3) is currently 
packaged for natty or in my PPA for older Ubuntu versions:

Could you try it, please, and report if it fixes your issue?

The problem (segfault) also occurs when the address resolution queue is
exceeded:
