It seems that the bug does not longer exist in OO.org 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2. It was existing in 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu1. I tested this on an up to date Ubuntu 8.04 i386 and couldn't get it to hang and after browsing around the filesystem for a while. Any other ideas on how to reproduce this problem? I created an administrative user with username 'l'(small L,without quotes). I logged in as l and opened OOo.org 2.4 Word processor. Then opened the 'open' dialog box and browsed for a while. OpenOffice.org 2.4 from 8.04LTS crashes on load/save dialogs with such account. Actually it is not crash but total hangup of refreshing the windows content. I did not notice CPU eating in such moment. Tested on two machines, both are AMD64 with 32-bit version of Ubuntu. All files in account were vanilla - after several hangups I've cleaned - up $HOME. To reproduce bug please create account l (maybe other one- - letter logins are affected too) and open load or save dialog. Browse - through filesystem for a while. + up $HOME.
