Firefox 3.5 still has this problem - not only on Ubuntu. I experience the same Problem on Mac OS X. I searched with google and the reasons seem very obscure - there used to be some flag that allowed to set the permissions for image files be domain. This flag is not there any more in 3.5. I had some success in specifically allowing the google domain to display pictures - but this success was not persistent. I had remove all cache content before it worked. I've got this problem with a gallery of images where only some will display. I have 2 PC's - running Ubuntu 8.04 32 bit and another running 9.04 64-bit The 8.04 Ubuntu works just fine. The 9.04 Ubuntu exhibits this problem with both Firefox 3.0 and 3.5 I have described this problem at this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1192471 This thread shows the torn page placeholder for the thumbnail images. If I can help by testing, let me know. If you have a solution, I would like that too.
