Pong! - Sorry for the LNG gab!

Well, I don't have the laptop anymore! - I can get my hands on one,
though!

I'll give it a shoot!

[Bug 25099] Re: Multimedia button 2, 4 and 5 not working on HP pavilion 4400

2007-03-07 Thread Eythian
I have an HP Pavilion dv5000. On this, the volume and mute do work (in
Edgy), however rhythmbox doesn't respond to the media keys other than
the play/pause one. They do send signals according to xev though. Any
way I can help make these do the right thing? (Assuming it's not just
rhythmbox?)

If I set them up in the 'keyboard shortcuts' program, skip previous
comes up as 0x90, skip next is 0x99, stop is 0xA4, and play/pause is
0xA2. However, even after setting them there, pushing them doesn't do
anything. xev does refer to them as XF86AudioStop, Next and Prev, so
something seems to be happening right there.

I also don't know if it relates, but the play/pause on the remote works
fine, but the skip forward and backwards send a large number of events
that include letters and caps lock.

Any of this likely to be useful?

Can you test this on Dapper 6.06.1 or Edgy Beta 1 so we can see if the
bug still exists?
