Public bug reported: Binary package hint: yelp
On my Ubuntu installation, it is possible, replicably, to make the Help system crash with the error: ** Yelp:ERROR:(yelp-document.c:275):yelp_document_cancel_page: assertion failed: (document != NULL && YELP_IS_DOCUMENT (document)) The following is the sequence: start Help; search for keyword "bookmarks"; click on one of the links offered ("Visual Effects", for example); first of these clicks has no effect at all; second click causes close down of Help system. This is on 8.04 (upgraded from 7.10, not a new installation). I couldn't manage to get yelp to come up under strace, so no strace log available. When I ran yelp from within gdb, the symptoms changed -- again, first click has no effect, but now second click hangs the system rather than having it crash. The gdb log is attached. ** Affects: yelp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- user help system crashes under certain circumstances https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
