Cherokee  will be merged  from debian unstable   as soon  as  Ubuntu 9.04 
accepts merges
then  we can do backport from  9.04 to Intrepid , hardy

I'm keeping the ppa as a short term solution for a newer  cherokee on
ubuntu

Although its great you have these packages; i'm not really sure this truly
closes the bug. We can't have PPA for every package we would possible want
to install. This needs to eventually be in universe or something, shouldn't
it?

I think we could close this bug since intrepid containe cherokee 0.7.2.
But never the less, cherokee 0.8 has been released today...
