Hey, I think it works now. Same here! Dell Inspiron 1525n laptop Video: Intel x3100 Ubuntu is factory-installed. When activating any of the effects that does not work, like Rain, no errors appear in Xorg's log. Today I tried the experimental Snow plugin, and it runs very well. Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file from after reproducing this issue.
