Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.26-5-generic
With Intrepid Alpha 4, after ubuntu boots, display goes blank. I can see the boot progress screen. However, when it switches to X, the display goes blank. Ctrl+Alt+F1 does not show text-mode either. With X, the display is blank, but there is some signal. However, in text mode (with Ctrl+Alt+F1), the monitor says no signal. This is on Lenovo Thinkcentre A59, which comes with intel Q35 integrated graphics: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82Q35 Express DRAM Controller (rev 02) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82Q35 Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) 00:03.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation 82Q35 Express MEI Controller (rev 02) 00:03.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82Q35 Express PT IDER Controller (rev 02) 00:03.3 Serial controller: Intel Corporation 82Q35 Express Serial KT Controller (rev 02) Monitor is a Lenovo ThinkVision 19" wide-screen with a native resolution of 1440x900, connected through VGA output. Finally, the workaround is to pass 'vga=771' to the kernel parameters. In this case, everything works properly - the right resolution is chosen and switching to text mode and back works as expected. - Naveen ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Intrepid Alpha4] No display on Lenovo Thinkcentre A59 with Intel Q35 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260358 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
