Daniel: thanks, but changing fragment size and fragment duration in daemon.conf do not fix the issue (I tried many different values, but with no success). Brandon, sorry, I meant /etc/pulse/daemon.conf. Matteo, there is no setting that works out of the box for all possible audio hardware. Happens also in Jaunty.
