Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
The LG U990 mobile phone, a USB and Bluetooth capable GSM/UMTS/HSDPA phone with support for Bluetooth and USB modem use, isn't detected by NM. It provides CDC ACM modem interface descriptors (interface=2, subinterface=2) so all that's needed to get it working is to add an entry to the FDI data in hal-info that adds the GSM modem command sets. The change is much the same as for bug #262566 , but the vendor and product codes are: ID 1004:6000 LG Electronics, Inc. VX4400/VX6000 Cellphone (see full lsusb -vvv attached) I forgot to capture lshal output from before I tweaked the HAL fdi config, but I can revert the change and provide it on request. It doesn't seem necessary, though. It seems like a more user-friendly way to add new vendor/product codes for GSM modems might be needed given the sheer number of phones out there. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 0.7 3G: LG U990 GSM/UMTS/HSDPA phone not detected (USB) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/263044 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
