[Bug 267015] Re: tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010
Surprised as I am, my experience mirrors that of dyun. I had to do a fresh install of Jaunty last night and was pleased to find my tablet working when it was all over. Not sure what bad magic is at the end of the log (may correspond to when I first put stylus to screen during this session?), but I don't know if it matters. ** Attachment added: Xorg.0.log http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26521450/Xorg.0.log -- tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267015 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help. ** Changed in: wacom-tools (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267015 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 267015] Re: tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010
This problem no longer appears on Jaunty. Fresh install, no touching xorg.conf. Tablet pen is automatically picked up (and so is the corresponding eraser). Attached is an Xorg.0.log for proof. Device is called FUJ02e5, search for it to see that Xorg correctly sets up its parameters. Only problem now is that `xsetwacom list dev` is broken, but that problem is known upstream http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detailaid=2776735group_id=69596atid=525125. ** Bug watch added: SourceForge.net Tracker #2776735 http://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?aid=2776735 ** Attachment added: Xorg.log showing pen being detected on Fujitsu T2010 http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26421131/Xorg.0.log -- tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267015 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I had the same issue with Fujitsu Lifebook T4010, so I've written 2 fdi files to make the pen work out of the box. Tested with latest jaunty. I don't like this, but I haven't found a way to copy the device path to the parent device. 10-serial-tabletpc.fdi (information): device match key=info.capabilities contains=serial match key=@serial.originating_device:info.capabilities contains=input.tablet.tabletPC addset key=info.capabilities type=strlistinput/addset addset key=info.capabilities type=strlistinput.tablet/addset addset key=info.capabilities type=strlistinput.tablet.tabletPC/addset merge key=input.device type=copy_propertyserial.device/merge !-- without removing info.category this device will be handled as modem -- remove key=info.category/remove /match /match /device 10-serial-wacom.fdi (policy) device match key=info.capabilities contains=input.tablet.tabletPC match key=info.capabilities contains=serial merge key=input.x11_driver type=stringwacom/merge merge key=input.x11_options.Type type=stringstylus/merge merge key=input.x11_options.ForceDevice type=stringISDV4/merge /match /match /device Everett, I've fjbtndrv packages for intrepid and jaunty in my ppa (https://launchpad.net/~khnz/+archive/ppa). -- tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267015 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 267015] Re: tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010
While lshal doesn't list a device for the tablet, I find I can find the correct /dev entry on my Intrepid system by running: ls $(hal-get-property --udi /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/pnp_FUJ02e5 --key linux.sysfs_path)/tty Hope this helps. [Bug 267015] Re: tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010
When this xorg.conf is applied on my Fujitsu T2010 (when wacom-tools is installed from repo) the pen works. No sign of pressure sensitivity working in applications. No screen flipping. http://www.alexmac.cc/tablet-apps/ works (I believe this may just be a gtk front end for something that comes text-based with wacom-tools) -- tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267015 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 267015] Re: tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010
Tony, Though this is outside of the scope of the bug (no tablet input without messing around with the xorg.conf), I've found solutions to some of the problems you're describing: No sign of pressure sensitivity working in applications. I have pressure sensitivity working in GIMP. Try Edit/Preferences/Input Devices/Configure Extended. Set stylus and eraser to something other than Disabled. :) No screen flipping There's a driver for the buttons, but they don't have Intrepid packages built yet and I had trouble building my own. http://fjbtndrv.wiki.sourceforge.net/packages That said, I found a script that someone posted to the Ubuntu Forums and adapted it a bit to make it work properly with my T2010. I'll attach it to this post. execute it with -n(ormal) -u(p) -l(eft) or -r(ight) switches to rotate the screen. I put launchers in my panel for each direction to make it possible to rotate with a click. Note that in Intrepid, with Compiz enabled, this will restart X and close whatever you're working on. With Metacity, it rotates immediately without issue. ** Attachment added: script for rotating tablet screen http://launchpadlibrarian.net/19951773/rotate_display.sh -- tablet input not working on Fujitsu T2010 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267015 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
