** Description changed:

On a fresh install of Intrepid Alpha 5, it started in low graphics mode,
so I installed the Nvidia driver (I tried both versions), but after
restarting X (and rebooting), the incorrect resolution was given. The
screen was stretched so I could only see the top half, and it should be
  1440x900.

The graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce 7000M.

I also tried Envy, but it crashed when I tried to load it.
+
+ Another problem is that when I press Ctrl+Alt+F1, it just shows a blank
+ screen, meaning that I can't install the Nvidia drivers manually. When I
+ run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg", it never asks me about the
+ graphics card.
