I, too, experience this bug with intrepid x86. In the sidebar totem-gstreamer reads codec: N/A, while totem-xine reads Codec: AMR narrow band (ffmpeg) Chanels: 0 Frequency: 15750 Hz Bitrate: N/D and nothing on stderr. I too have this issue: in every 3gp file I can hear no sound with totem (ubuntu x86-64). If you hear audio in other applications and with other video types then this is likely to be due to a missing codec. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3gp outlines the anatomy of a 3gp file, and from that you can see that a 3gp file may contain audio data in one of a number of formats.
