[Bug 26874] Re: No notification is network cables are unplugged.
Well this still hasn't been fixed for all hardware. My 3c589D pcmcia card is not supported. When I pull out the cable there is no confirmation from nm-applet. Good point. However, I still feel the user should be notified when a network cable is unplugged. -- No notification is network cables are unplugged. https://launchpad.net/bugs/26874 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 26874] Re: No notification is network cables are unplugged.
The network interface should not be shut down when the cable is unplugged. What if I plug it in again? What if it's a transient error? Some other operating systems used to have the bug that they shut down the network interface when the cable was unplugged. This was extremely annoying, and those operating systems have since been fixed. -- No notification is network cables are unplugged. https://launchpad.net/bugs/26874 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
