[Bug 270674] Re: smartd doesn't "just work" on SATA disks
Just find: DEVICESCAN -m root -M exec /usr/share/smartmontools/smartd-runner in your smartd.conf, and change it to something like this: DEVICESCAN -d sat -m root -M exec /usr/share/smartmontools/smartd-runner ** Changed in: smartmontools (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Committed -- smartd doesn't "just work" on SATA disks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/270674 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 270674] Re: smartd doesn't "just work" on SATA disks
I don't get those lines in /var/log/daemon.log but I do find it odd that "sudo /etc/init.d/smartmontools start" has no output whatsoever and ps -ef | grep smartd doesn't show it. I'm going to confirm this because it certainly isn't working on my SATA drive, although I'm getting silent failure. ** Changed in: smartmontools (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- smartd doesn't "just work" on SATA disks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/270674 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
