[Bug 274236] Re: Arabic characters look separated and they suppose to be connected

2010-10-13 Thread Mohamed Farag
Here too:

It's a bug in Flash. Either Flash player/Shockwave plugin for Firefox, or the
player in general (i.e.: standalone and plugin).
..there have been discussions and bug reports on this issue since last year!
We need to escalate the issue upwards to developers of Flash..at Adobe..FOSS
players' developers..any.

It is very obvious when viewing an Arabic video on Youtube, like this one:

Screenshot attached for the post-video related videos announcements,
which shows the bug perfectly.

I use Firefox 3.6.10 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx on a P4 machine.

Hi Pedro,
I have the same problem using opera/firefox, some flash objects show Arabic
characters separated not well shaped!
I believe it is an ubuntu problem as it works fine under windows using the
same firefox/opera

Cheers

2009-01-22 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04?
Thanks in advance.
